Gallery of Caribbean Art - Group Shows

Date: March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 2018

The Gallery of Caribbean Art is pleased to present 'Westindian Squared' an exhibition featuring artists Susan Mains, Asher Mains, Catherine-Forter-Chee-a-Tow and Virgil Broodhagen.  The exhibition opens on February 11th 2018, from 5-8pm and will run until March 7th, 2018.

The Gallery of Caribbean Art is located at the Northern Business Centre, Queen Street, Speightstown, St. Peter.

Barbados Polo Season 2018

Date: March  1st, 4th, 7th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 25th, 27th, 31st 2018

Polo is fast becoming one of the most popular sporting events in Barbados. It is great place enjoy the exciting atmosphere of polo played by local as well as visiting clubs from overseas.  All are welcome and bring the kids - its fun for the entire family!!

Sandy Lane Gold Cup 2018

Date: March 3rd 2018

Visit the historic Garrison Savannah for an exciting day of thoroughbred horse racing! The Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup remains the biggest and most popular Barbados event in March. The 2018 race takes place on Saturday March the 3rd. Now in its 37th year the Gold cup which takes place at the historic Garrison Savannah is rated as the most prestigious horse race in the Eastern Caribbean.

The running of the Gold Cup during the first Saturday in March puts it at the tail end of the tourism high season which ends in April. This mean that hotel rooms go pretty quickly at this time... So if you need a hotel near by you'll need to book early

BHS Open Garden Programme 2018

Date: March 4th, 18th 2018

The Open Garden Programme is presented by the Barbados Horticultural Society (BHS) on Sundays during the months of January to March each year. The general public is invited to view the stunning gardens of private home owners and tour them at their own leisure. Knowledgeable BHS members are always on hand to answer any questions and tea and refreshments are on sale.

Entrance Fees: BHS Members BB$10, Non-members BB$15, children are free.

BNT Hike Barbados Programme 2018

Date: March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th 2018

Attention all hikers!! Join the Barbados National Trust hikes every Sunday from January to December each year. There is a morning and afternoon hike each Sunday to choose from. The first begins at 6am and the second at 3:30pm.

The morning hikes consist of four grades of hikes: “Stop ‘n Stare” (c.6 miles) “1 Medium and a Fast Medium”(c.9 miles) “Grin ‘n Bear” (c.12 miles) In the afternoon, the morning’s “Stop ‘n Stare” route is repeated in one large group. Hikes last for 3 hours. Morning and afternoon hikes take place every Sunday EXCEPT on the Sunday of the Great Train Hike or unless indicated otherwise.

Special Moonlight Hikes during the week begin at 6pm and the regular Sunday Moonlight Hikes begin at 5:30 p.m. Make sure you have strong footwear and a hat and always take a bottle of water and a snack if you wish. Refreshments are usually on sale after the hikes. A torch/flashlight is needed for the Moonlight Hikes..

Laff It Off

Date: March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 2018

Barbados top comedy "Laff It Off" have 4 schedule shows during the month of March the dates for the shows are the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th Sir Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St Michael. Laff-it-Off is is a hilarious production done annually the show takes a sarcastic view of local everyday scenarios.

This years production is title "SIZE 'ROUN'" will no doubt leave you in stitches!

Barbados National Trust Open House

Date: March 7th, 14th, 18th, 21st 2018

It is an experience not be missed!

The Barbados National Trust Open House Season, definitely is a 'must do' on the Barbados' events calendar. It began in the 1960s, and continues in 2018 with a showcase of some of the island's' historically interesting and architecturally heritage. These open houses include some interesting commentry, narrated by some of Barbados’ most well-known historians and architectural gurus, the Open House Season 2018 will also feature live music, cultural performances by local schools, beautiful handmade Barbadian craft sold by artisans and many more enjoyable surprises!

Nidhe Israel Synagogue And Museum Tours

Date: March 2018

Visit the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere and the adjacent Nidhe Israel Museum, which documents the fascinating story of the Barbados Jewish community while paying homage to its role in Barbadian heritage and society. At the museum, you can find a timeline chronicling the Jewish settlement, their role in the sugar cane industry, see historic artifacts and view interactive displays, which are designed to provide a more realistic and detailed experience.

Since 2011, this historic synagogue has been designated as a UNESCO protected property within the World Heritage Site of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison..

Cricket MCC Champion County Match

Date: March 24th 2018

Barbados will host a festival of English cricket next spring, with both the North-South Series and the MCC’s Champion County Match against Essex to break new ground in the Caribbean.

The 2018 Champion County match between MCC XI and Essex will begin on March 27 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados. The day-night first-class fixture will take place across four days in Bridgetown and will be played with pink Duke balls.

Oistin's Fish Festival

Date: March 31st, 2018

Every April since 1977 the fishing village of Oistin's, stages the Oistin's Fish Festival. This Festival commemorates the signing of the Charter of Barbados. It is also held in honour of the fisher folks in Oistins and persons who have contributed to the Barbados fishing industry. This is one of the most anticipated events on the Barbados events calendar at this time of the year.

This fun cultural festival brings this small town to life with the songs of local music, food and craft. The Oistin's Fish Festival for 2018 takes place from Friday 31st March to Monday April 2nd.
