The Crane Hotel Barbados

The Crane Hotel Barbados is a secluded luxury resort perch on a cliff on Barbados southeast coast.

Its location about 5 minutes drive from the Grantley Adams International Airport and its close proximity to The Oistins Friday Night Fish Fry and St. Lawrence Gap with all its nightlife make this timeless resort the ideal vacation hide-away.

Widely regarded as the oldest hotel in the Caribbean the main building which dates back to the 17th century having been beautifully restored.

This has gone a long way to preserving the historic ambience for guest of this luxurious resort.

To this end eighteen of the resorts guest rooms are located in this original building where arched entrances, lead guest into a reception area where plush couches await you.

There are also three new buildings that house guest rooms at the Crane, these new buildings feature luxurious one, two and three bedroom units.

Guest Rooms at The Crane Hotel Barbados

The guest rooms at the The Crane are catergorize in two accommodation types these are the 1887 resort apartments and the private residence.

The historic hotel with its 1887 resort apartments is comprised of eighteen rooms and four room types.. 

These rooms feature hardwood floors, 12 foot ceilings, shutters, elaborate tile work in the bathrooms.

In addition rooms are adorn with four poster beds, freestanding full length mirrors and a myriad of other antiques. Some even have full kitchens and wrap around balconies that either overlook the pool are offer stunning views of the Atlantic ocean.

The Crane Private Residence has combined nineteenth century grandeur and furnishings with twenty-first century luxuries, conveniences and world-class amenities in its new development of private residence.

The Private residences boast the finest in furniture and finishes, including hand-crafted Barbadian mahogany furniture, objects d'art, mahogany four-poster king size beds, spa showers with multiple shower heads, private Jacuzzis, oriental carpets, cable TVs, and DVD players.

The setting, however, provides the true feel of the property: old-world coral stone walls, 10' high timber tray ceilings, central air-conditioning, floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms, and amazing ocean views of The Crane's crystal clear, turquoise waters.

One, two- and three-bedroom residences also feature the conveniences of a full fridge with in-door icemaker, smooth top stove, dishwasher and private washer and dryer. Junior suites offer a mini-kitchen and a garden view.

Each ground floor residence at The Crane carries a full-sized pool with a "disappearing edge," ranging from 14 to 28 ft in length, while all upstairs two-bedroom residences feature private plunge pools.

There are a couple of dining options at the Crane Hotel L'Azure and the Zen. At L'Azure you'll be treated to an excellent and varied Caribbean and International menu for lunched.  All served in a leisurely relaxed atmosphere wiyh spectacular panoramic views of Crane Beach.

The Asian architecture and Japanese influence decor at the Zen restaurant offers a truly unique dining experience... Like the L'azure its spectacular cliff top setting provide the ideal atmosphere for that special occasion.

You can revel in the breathtaking views of the popular Crane Beach through the restaurants all glass front. As you sample the classic Japanese and Thai cuisine

The centerpiece of the Zen is the sushi bar which overlooks the sea 50 feet below.

Here you can enjoy Thai and Japaneses delicacies in a nice and relax atmosphere as you enjoy the breathtaking view.

The experience at the Zen is really one to savour... as the restaurant offer a number of seating options including a traditional Japanese tatami room and intimate private dining room.
