Crane Barbados

It was the winter of 2002... we were looking for a winter retreat with warm beautiful weather, spectacular turquoise waters and white sandy beaches.
The Caribbean islands sound like a good bet. So we decided to browse through a Caribbean travel magazine... there were so many breathtaking destinations to choose from.
With so many beautiful islands to choose from… the decision was beginning to look like it was going to be a difficult one.
When we came across an advertisement that stated, “The Caribbean’s Newest Luxury Resort is also its oldest”.
The resort they were describing was The Crane Barbados. This statement somehow fascinated me... but even more fascinating were the beautiful photos that accompanied it.
Now we had never heard about the Crane hotel Barbados before... so we log on to the website listed in the advertisement to get some more information.
What we saw definitely convince us that this was the tropical paradise we were looking for... we book our vacation and three weeks later we pack our bags and headed to Barbados.
We arrived at the Crane expecting a lot but what we saw blew us away... It was breathtaking, neither the magazine nor the website had done justice to this resort. It was amazingly gorgeous!
From the moment we arrived we love everything about it... especially its location perched on the cliff on Barbados southeastern coast not far from the Grantley Adams International Airport.
Our room was located in the original building which we were told dates back to the 17th century it was awesome...
Antiques adorn the rooms and the balcony give way to stunning views of the ocean that can only be describe as heavenly.
It was great fun... most of our days were spent on the idyllic Crane beach or exploring the many attractions in our rental car.
We even got lost a couple of times but on both occasions we were quickly back on track with the help of some very friendly locals.
It was the best vacation ever, we love the people, the culture and the weather... actually we love everything about Barbados and the Crane hotel.
In particular the people, they are friendly and helpful. Crane Barbados sure felt like home to us.
