For many years Baxters Road has been the place where both locals and visitors flock for their late-night Barbadian fare...
Located at the northern end of the historic city Bridgetown this street is an oasis of late night activity in a city that usually closes its doors early.
There is more to Baxters Road than the open flames of the many wayside vendors who ply their trade there... Baxter’s Road is the street that has it all...
Sports bar, restaurants, rum shops and bakeries all ply their trade on this bustling street that never sleeps...
And there is good reason for this, for every night there is a hive of activity. Over the years many of these establishment have become Barbadian traditions...
The Pink Star is one such place serving its chicken liver cutters dripping with rich delicious gravy well into the early hours of the morning.
Take my word when serve warm theses liver cutters encapsulates the culinary magic that has been Baxter’s Road for so many years.
...But what no-doubt has made Baxter’s road world renowned is the delicious fried fish and typical Barbadian menu on offer most nights of the week...
From as early as 7 pm pedestrians and motorist make their way to this familiar street to get a taste of delicious delicacies prepared the bajan way...
Our family is no different... most weekend nights we head over to the street that never sleeps for our share of some finger licking delicacies cook on a good old fashion coal pot.
Our favourite wayside seller is Gloria, now she and her staff has been there for as long as I could remember... braving the flames and heat as it burns profusely under four or five coal pots preparing tasty goodies for customers of all ages.
You’ll get some of the most delectable fried or grilled fish served with French fries, fried breadfruit slices, fried plantains, sweet potatoes, macaroni pie and various salads at her stall.
Let me just say you will enjoy your outing on this street that never sleeps... the atmosphere is great you’ll be thrill as you mingle with the locals and sample the typical Barbadian menu on offer at Baxter’s Road.
